The unit is discreet and doesn't interfere with my car's OBDII port, which is a big plus. I love the app's ability to set a timer for the alarm-perfect for when I need to leave it inactive temporarily. The TAG add-on is a standout feature; it automatically activates and deactivates the alarm when I approach or leave my vehicle, eliminating the need for manual phone interactions. I opted for the door sensors and upgraded to the latest hardware, which made the setup smoother. While the base unit is affordable at $9.95/month, I'd advise investing in the add-ons to avoid subscription fees and ensure full functionality. The only downside? I had to remove my car's Bluetooth MP3 player to prevent interference, which was a bit of a hassle.

I've installed this unit in my car, and it's been a game-changer for security. The OBDII port remains open, so I can access it whenever needed.The app lets me set the alarm to activate on a timer,which is perfect for my routine. Adding the TAG 2.0, door sensors, and vibration sensors has made the system smarter and more hands-free. The only downside is that without the right accessories, the monthly subscription might be necessary, but I've saved money by investing in them. I've also encountered some weekend performance issues, though the app log holds the data. it's reliable, accurate, and worth the cost for peace of mind.

Any top speed you want. Anyone driving the car goes over that speed the alarm will go off on the APP on your cell phone. It also rates the way you drove your trip letting you know where you were speeding and where you did hard stops. The app also shows you how many miles you have driven on a monthly basis in case you want to keep track of your mileage. Trips you have taken and length in time of each trip. Many more features, I just want to give you an idea on what you will get with this unit.
As far as the Unit I purchased the OBDII extender and placed the unit away from my OBDII. No one knows I have the unit installed accept me.Plus it leaves the OBDII open for any time you might need to access it. This unit also activates the alarm on a timer. The app lets you set up the time you want the unit to activate after you have turned off the car.
I purchased the unit I also purchased sensors for each door of my vehicle as well as the tag. The TAG is one of the greatest add-on I highly recommend. What the tag does is activates and deactivates the alarm automatically when you come close to your car automatically. This way you won't have to do it with your cell phone before you open your car.
All in all if you want something that will not break the bank and will give you a piece of mind I will highly recommend this unit. The only thing is that to make this GPS ALARM work the way it is intended to don't SKIMP out on the add-ons. Buy the add-ons you need because you will save on the monthly subscription and have a piece of mind. How much is a piece of mind worth it to you?

After ordering a TAG 2.0, I realized my unit was too old to support the Bluetooth features of this tag. carlock customer service was very responsive and offered me a discount on the newer unit, including a painless migration of my history and settings. Replacing the unit was effortless,as was switching to proper TAG 2.0 Bluetooth mode to lock/unlock Carlock based on proximity. I also ordered an additional vibration sensor to mount in my car glove compartment, and I can report that this sensor works flawlessly, too. All in all, I think Carlock is still the best (if not cheapest) option to prevent car theft and break-ins and be warned of damage. suggestion to the company: I'd love to see basic OBD diagnostic scanning features in a future version, so I can retire my separate OBD diagnostics dongle.

Desde el punto de vista como ingeniero que soy este dispositivo está muy logrado en todos los aspectos tanto en hardware como en software y eso contando que es compatible con todos los puertos OBD de primera generación y segunda generación. Las métricas no superan los dos metros de error. Tiene un buen número de funcionalidades y avisos al teléfono móvil que tienes emparejado. Todos los datos se envían a la nube y por eso es tan preciso. Sin embargo, tengo una contra que decir y es que los fines de semana se satura el sistema y aunque registra todo parece que no funciona. Es decir no se muestra nada en el teléfono móvil. Pero cuando vuelve miras el registro y está todo ahí. Tiene una alta sensibilidad tanto en GPS como en 4G. Y ojo para todo el mundo, dispone de un módulo bluetooth que se pueden emparejar pero que no hace falta. Este concepto último es lo que hay que tener en cuenta para el último funcionamiento del dispositivo ya que si dispones de un MP3 en el coche con bluetooth puede interferir con las comunicaciones de este dispositivo. Esto me ha pasado a mí y he tenido que anular el mp3 portátil que tenía. Buen servicio tanto del cliente como de producto buen desarrollo de software y buen desarrollo de hardware.
