The Journey of a Wildflower Garden
After planting this wildflower mix in late May 2018, we experienced a challenging dry spell right after seeding. the initial growing season was disappointing, with very few blooms despite daily watering during the first few weeks. However, the garden has shown remarkable resilience and vitality in subsequent years.
This year (2019), our garden has transformed into a colorful tapestry of blooms that began appearing in late may. The photograph taken in early June shows a more established garden compared to the previous season. Now thriving, the flower bed has become a highlight in our yard, with various flowers like daisies, candytuft, wallflowers, and gloriosa daisies in full display.
Updates through 2020 reflect continued growth:
April 7, 2020:
Although a severe drought affected blooms at the end of the previous growing season (mid-June to mid-July), we remained hopeful that the flowers survived and would rebound. Our optimism was validated as the spring of 2020 brought new growth.
June 9, 2020:
the garden has flourished since the seeds had time to establish. With each passing day, more colors emerge, creating a dynamic display of shasta daisies, blue flax, candytuft, and more yet to come as summer progresses.

I wasn't sure if this would really give me the wildflower pollinator garden I wanted but as you can see it did!! Very happy with the outcome, lots of leggy pretty flowers for the bees and butterflies to enjoy. You can see by the photos, I did them backwards but the two photos on the right are obviously the seedlings after 10 days (May 14th.) and then almost 2 weeks later (May 26th) & the full leggy look photos to the left were taken July 15th. I would recommend these seeds! For ref.
