The sheer volume of picks is impressive, offering a comprehensive guide that spans genres and eras. While we admire the interviewed selections—some surprising, others familiar—we noticed a handful of omissions that left us scratching our heads. The author’s insights are sharp, but we wish the accompanying essays had gone deeper. Convertible to lists, the bookfunctions as a Reference where visual impact, we lacked.
