Once setup, it automatically connects as soon as teh headphones are turned on. No fuss, no muss.Its nice and small too, not a space hog. once I corrected a few things with my own equipment, set up was a breeze - just a minute and done. Highly recommend this - the sound is so much more detailed compared to my tv's built in speakers,and absolutely no lag,or out of sync image to sound. If you are like me and a little technically challenged,or yoru "smart tv" was absent they installed the "smarts" here's a few things I came up against. If you're technically gifted, you don't have to continue reading.
1. My headphones hadn't been used for a while, and wouldn't go into pairing mode.Fix: press and hold the power/pairingbutton for a full 10 seconds, even if it flashes before then..this reset the pairing function.
2. Although my tv had a 3.5mm headset jack, I couldn't get any sound. Fix: go into the tv settings, sound, to see your output options...mine only offered tv internal speakers or optical, and that has to be turned on.I thought a smart tv would recognize the device and connection automatically, mine couldn't. Thankfully the device shipped with an optical cable. This time I powered on the device,turned on the headset,it paired in seconds,and splendid sound.

This is a high quality product and offers excellent value. It paired quickly and easily to my airpods but there was no sound. I was using RCA cables. Was about to send it back but read the instructions first.The issue was you have to turn up the volume on the device with the up arrow. Works awesome.RTFM!!!!Lastly this is not battery powered. It plugs into 110V power.

I bought 2 sets. Within a few short minutes, I had the headphones paired and working on 1 tv using the optical connection.The unit draws very little current,so as another reviewer stated- if it is connected to the USB port,it will power up and down when the TV is switched on and off. That is awesome! I didn't want to have another power supply behind the TV. The unit is behind the TV, and still communicates to the headphones, even outside of the TV room.A little expensive for what it is, but it is definitely good quality, larger than anticipated.
The other TV didn't work properly with the other unit. Tried the digital output,and I could not adjust the volume on the headphones,wich made it kind of useless. I will be sending the 2nd unit back.

this is a nice little Bluetooth transmitter/receiver. I got this primarily for sending audio from non-Bluetooth sources, e.g. airplane in-flight entertainment systems, to my Bluetooth headphones, i.e. in transmitter (TX) mode. I was able to use this adapter with both of my Bluetooth headphones. The sound quality is fine -- that being said, both of my Bluetooth headphones only work with SBC so I couldn't benefit from the additional codecs supported by this adapter. (Next time I get a new pair of headphones, I'm going to look for additional codec support.) A decent manual is included describing how to use the various modes, but TL;DR: what's not immediately obvious is you need to press and hold the power button for a second to get the device to turn on and off.Make sure you have selected "TX" mode on the side switch if your use case matches mine. Then, put your headphones into pairing mode and it should connect. Also in the box was a USB-A to USB-C charging cable (you'll need to supply your own AC power adapter), a 3.5mm female to female coupler, and an airplane 2x 3.5mm to stereo 3.5mm adapter. The 3.5mm coupler was a nice inclusion, to cover situations where the device you want to connect to has its own built-in male 3.5mm connector. this transmitter/receiver is somewhat expensive at about $56 after coupon, and I have seen similar products at lower price points. However, I do appreciate that this model supports Bluetooth 5.3 (relatively recent) and that it also has a small LCD screen to tell you the volume level, which codec is being used, what headphones it connected to, and a battery level indicator. The additional adapters are also handy. I haven't used this on a flight yet,but I'm hoping it will last the duration of most flights without needing charging; the claimed 30H long battery life would be sweet if accurate. If I could change one thing, it would be nice if this included full playback and volume controls.The manual says the "OK" button can be used for Play/pause, but it is indeed more accurate to say that you can use that button to mute the audio temporarily; I connected the transmitter to an iPod nano and it doesn't stop playback on the iPod when you press "OK", it just mutes it until you press it again.

Truly the best one of these I've had, and I've had about 5.Designed for use on a plane, I got it for transmitting my record player to my bluetooth speakers. Firstly, the sound quality is excellent. No distortion and sounds perfect. what's sets it apart is the lcd screen. Sometimes connecting to other devices that don't have screens (like sound bars or speakers) can be a pain as you wait for it to connect, not know what the problem is. The screen makes it super easy as you can see the device you want to connect to and easily select the device you want. The other huge benefit? Multi broadcast support. So many times I've wanted to watch the same program on a plane with my wife, this device makes it possible in transmit mode when plugged into a tablet. Making transatlantic flights better. They also include that weird two pronged adapter for some planes. Highly recommend.

Clearly,this is the best device I tested,once you get it set up. it is straightforward to pair, but you need to know that this requires a 2s press on the power button. The setup is not obvious by itself, you can't get it just by hitting any button as you may end resetting the device. This is clearing the manual,but do not loose it. Other than that, it works really nicely, and it is clear which device is connected.
