I recently discovered this and decided to purchase it. There are no reviews or ratings from Japan yet, so this might be the first review from Japan. It is indeed advertised as being able to record in 4K, but the actual resolution is up to 2880x2160 at 24fps with a bitrate of 24,666 kbps, which is approximately 3 MB/s per second. This means 180 MB per minute and about 6 minutes of recording per GB. In full HD, it was around 14 Mbps, so it requires almost double the storage capacity. This applies to dash cams in general, but without a high-end, durable MLC SD card for dash cams, I think they would break within a few months.The quality is excellent, with high resolution but surpassing previous standards. I used to use DrivePro 230 and 70mai 1s, but the ROVE R2-4K's quality is overwhelming. It can even read license plates in poorly lit areas. It comes with GPS and speedometer, and naturally, it has many functions. The on-camera menu is also in Japanese. There's a voice guide, and you can turn off the sound and use mechanical tones or go fully silent.The silence feature is surprisingly useful. I was lucky to get a 3000 yen coupon on it. Since it's just arrived in the Japanese market,they're problably giving it away cheaply,like they do in the US for around $120. This amazing value seems like a temporary offer. The only downside is the MiniUSB port, which is outdated in 2023. Even though there was a photo showing it, I guess it's to late to switch to MicroUSB now. Type-C would be ideal, but microusb at the very least... That's the only drawback. Considering this, the overwhelmingly good quality and excellent value for money make it completely acceptable. I think this kind of sale price won't last long, but for a 4K dash cam with decent quality and full functionality at this price, it's practically flawless.
